Join our multi-disciplinary team at The Peninsula Retirement Community, an elegant retirement Community in Sidney, BC, offering a blend of independent and assisted living.

We’re hiring a permanent Health Care Aide) for 2-4 days per week,

This is an ideal role for someone seeking extra shifts in a supportive retirement community setting, without the physical demands of long-term care.

**Qualifications**:
MUST HAVE: Registered with the BC Care Aide Registry (unregistered applicants will not be considered)

First Aid

Basics of Medication course

Strong ability to connect with seniors, families, and the public

Tact, sound judgment, patience, reliability, and respect for confidentiality

Excellent spoken and written communication skills
- Commitment to treating residents and staff with dignity, empathy and respect.

Must be in good health, physically able to perform repetitive tasks, lift, squat, bend, stand and walk as required to perform the duties of the position, including taking the stairs in our 4 story building

Must be able to pass a criminal record check

Must have proof of Covid-19 vaccinations, proof of TB test and Vaccination and Immunization history

Must be reliable, show up for your shift and show up on time.

**Duties**:
The duties are basic: Medication administration, bath assist and dress assist. No lifts, no Transfers, not hectic pace. You will also respond to any emergencies in the building.

You must be able to work alone without direct supervision, and you are also part of a multidisciplinary team that supports the social, physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, and nutritional needs of our residents.
