**Position Overview**: As an Assistant Manager at Olympian Sports in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the store's operations and ensuring exceptional customer service. You will assist in managing staff, overseeing daily operations, and driving sales and profitability.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- **Team Leadership and Management**:

- Assist the Store Manager in recruiting, training, and supervising a team of retail associates.
- Provide coaching and support to staff to ensure they deliver excellent customer service and achieve sales targets.
- Schedule and manage staff shifts effectively to ensure adequate coverage during operational hours.
- **Operational Excellence**:

- Assist in maintaining store standards for cleanliness, organization, and visual merchandising.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in inventory management, including ordering and stock replenishment.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding safety, security, and loss prevention.
- **Customer Service**:

- Lead by example in providing outstanding customer service to enhance the shopping experience.
- Resolve customer complaints and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Foster a customer-focused environment among staff to build loyalty and repeat business.
- **Sales and Performance**:

- Assist in achieving sales targets and profitability goals by promoting merchandise and maximizing store productivity.
- Analyze sales trends and take proactive steps to optimize performance and minimize shrinkage.
- Collaborate with the Store Manager on marketing and promotional initiatives to drive traffic and sales.
- **Administrative Duties**:

- Assist with administrative tasks such as cash handling, opening and closing procedures, and daily reporting.
- Utilize point-of-sale (POS) systems and other software effectively to process transactions and manage inventory.

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in retail management or supervisory role preferred.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

**Additional Requirements**:

- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in retail management is a plus.
- Knowledge of sporting goods and retail industry trends is desirable.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed, up to 50 pounds.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada.

**Working Conditions**:
