**Position: 1913 Host/ Hostess**

**Reports To: Bar Manager**

**Job Summary**:
Reporting to the Bar Manager, the 1913 Cocktail Server plays a vital role in helping deliver an unforgettable dining experience that embodies the unique experience, character and service of 1913 Speakeasy, while positively contributing to embodying the Hard Rock culture.

**Hours of Work**:
This is an hourly position, with work hours that align with business needs and guest demand. This will be predominantly PM shifts.

**1913 Host/ Hostess - Job Description**

**Job Duties Include (but are not limited to)**:

- Welcome guests as they arrive at the 1913
- Following the steps of service, consistently, for welcoming a guest to 1913, as well as different interactions with guests (ie. phone calls, seating a guest, saying farewell to a guest etc.)
- Consistently offer a professional, friendly greeting and engaging service
- Understand the server’s tasks in the outlet
- Answer phone calls and make/edit/cancel reservations
- Full understanding of our reservation system (OpenTable)
- Assist guests regarding food and beverage menu items in an informative and helpful way
- Have knowledge of menu items and be able to confidently answer any questions guests may have
- Follow outlet policies, procedures and service standards
- Follow all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications**
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Fluency in English, both verbal and non-verbal
- Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities
- Smart Serve certified
- Food Handlers certificate
- Highly responsible & reliable
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- Ability to focus attention on guest needs, always remaining calm and courteous

**Physical Aspects of Position (include but are not limited to)**:

- Constant standing and walking throughout shift
- Occasional lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs
- Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling
