IO’s Finance, Technology, and Lending Enterprise Team ensures that IO is a financially efficient and effectively managed organization and that the agency’s finances are monitored, reported, and managed appropriately. The team also manages the infrastructure lending program, which has supported more than $18 billion in local infrastructure development, and IO’s Information Technology and Business Services, providing tools and systems to ensure secure, effective, and efficient operations.
As part of the Information Technology and Business Services team, the SharePoint Specialist will provide expert-level SharePoint Online solution design, development and related workflow automation solutions, implementation, maintenance, and support for IO enterprise SharePoint Online content management system.
**What You Will Do**:
- Design, develop, configure, and maintain SharePoint Online custom web components, document libraries, enterprise lists and site collections
- Assist systems analysts and developers with software development projects, including requirements gathering and validation of technical design specifications scoping, scheduling, implementation, and testing
- Implement and manage SharePoint Online Server configurations and services (CA, App, Index, WFEs, Search, Caching, Crawling)
- Lead design and implementation SharePoint Online solutions that meet functional, capacity, and security requirements
- Work closely with various IT groups to lead the technical design, create, and organize site collections that support efficient business process workflows. This could include participating in user interface design
- Partner with assigned external developers to create customized solutions (this may include integrating third-party tools and/or custom code into SharePoint Online)
- Continually improve the efficiency and usability of our SharePoint Online implementation
- Lead the design, implementation, and customization of SharePoint Online-based solutions for Collaboration, Content Management and Workflows. Also assist in technical initiatives related to migration from legacy systems to SharePoint Online
- Lead the complete software development lifecycle for SharePoint Online solutions, including analysis, design, configuring and testing
- Coordinate and deliver technology rollouts, patches, and upgrades specific to SharePoint
- Responsible for the design of, architecture, development, deployment, operations, administration of M365 & SharePoint Online infrastructure and business solutions
- Provide Tier 3 support and troubleshooting services for SharePoint and related O365 software products
- Develop detailed plans, test all design and development work including overseeing deployment to testing and production environments
- Identify and recommend best practices to comply with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) in designing and using SharePoint Online including gaps in the product platform that limits compliance to the AODA.
- Lead and facilitate working sessions to Gather and document business and technical requirements, research and provide solutions, and design, develop, update SharePoint Online site configurations
- Ensure appropriate signoffs for business requirements and related documentation are received from the IO business program area (Director level)
- Lead and document SharePoint Online solution designs; interface between IT teams and records management to provide innovative and effective approaches to solutioning requirements on SharePoint Online
- Lead automation of provisioning process, documenting requirements, solutioning and implementing
- Mitigate end of IT product lifecycle risks and will provide IT operational project deliverables related to system upgrades, workload migrations and maturing systems documentation.
**What We’re Looking For**:
- 3 years’ technical experience working with SharePoint Online & Office 365 as a SharePoint Online administrator
- Prior experience with SharePoint Online Migrations to provide guidance, expertise on the migration of various workloads/content to SharePoint Online and resolve outstanding issues post migrations
- Solid understanding of SharePoint Online, Office 365, One Drive, SharePoint Online workflows, and Microsoft Teams
- Must have in-depth knowledge and working experience of O365 roles and permissions
- Demonstrated ability to define and document SharePoint Online architecture based on requirements
- The ability to collaborate with business partners and various IT functional areas to prioritize projects and develop / implement solution plans that address the functional requirements of the business
- Excellent communications and presentation skills with high energy level
