**Position Purpose**

Responsible for providing general labour duties within the Operations & Infrastructure Department

**Minimum Qualifications**
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year's previous related experience.
- Valid Class G Driver's License. DZ or AZ Driver's License is considered an asset.
- Driver's Abstract in good standing required to operate Corporation vehicles.
- Must be available to work all scheduled shifts including morning, day and night shift, and weekends as assigned.

**PRIMARY FUNCTION**:
Responsible for providing general labour duties within the Operations & Infrastructure Department

**REPORTS TO**:
Operations Supervisor or designate

**DIRECTION EXERCISED**

**WORKING PROCEDURES**
- Provides general labour for road maintenance activities including pot-hole filling, grass cutting, manual earth excavating, topsoil spreading, placing sod, placing concrete and asphalt, delivering materials on job sites, loading vehicles, washing and maintaining equipment, and other similar duties.
- Provides general maintenance activities including assisting with tree removal operations, picking up litter, removing roadside debris, removing waste from garbage receptacles, landscaping and other similar duties.
- Maintains the Town work yards (including shop and garage) through regular cleaning, painting and/or minor repairs including janitorial duties.
- Assists Town staff and volunteers during special events.
- Transports equipment/supplies from one location, to another as required.
- Maintains written logs of inspections and work activities, including the use of digital or electronic recording keeping systems.
- Provides detailed accounts and reports for accidents, incidents, etc. to aid in Insurance Claim investigations.
- Assists with set up and ensures that a traffic protection plan is in place and is appropriate for the area that is needed according to Book 7.
- Is responsible for operating equipment to complete all necessary duties, tractor, articulated wheel-loaders, steam machine, light-duty vehicles, dump trucks and other equipment as assigned.
- Maintains own safety and the safety of others by working in compliance with all applicable Federal and Provincial legislation and with the health and safety practices and procedures established by the Corporation.
- Participates in the Town's Health & Safety Program and complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, other applicable legislation and best practices.
- Maintains knowledge of and adheres to all Town of Georgina Policies and Procedures.
- Participates in ongoing Training and Development and ensures all mandatory requirements are met and maintained.

**EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION**

**Education and Training**:

- High School Diploma or equivalent.

**Experience**:

- Minimum one year's previous related experience,
- Experience in the use of municipal operations and maintenance equipment, such as tractors, grass-cutting equipment, sidewalk machines and four-wheel drive trucks, skid steer tractors etc.

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the general public.
- Ability to maintain written logs of inspections and work activities, including the use of digital or electronic recording keeping systems.
- Valid Class G Driver's Licence. DZ or AZ Driver's Licence is considered an asset.
- Ability to operate municipal equipment including vehicles and small tools. Ability to use a chainsaw and other gasoline-powered tools is r
