Job Summary:
The City of Guelph Recreation Department offers recreation programs for people of all ages and abilities in weekly sessions throughout the year. Our Preschool and Children programs offer a variety of activities such as sports, cooking, arts, theatre, dance and more These programs help children grow and develop, as well as foster positive social interactions with peers in a safe enjoyable recreational setting.

**Hours of work vary depending on program**:
**Preschool Drop-In program**

Wednesday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. starting as soon as possible

**Preschool Arts and General Programming - April start date**

Monday - Friday 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Wednesday and Fridays 12:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m.

**Preschool/Children’s Dance - April start date**

Saturdays between 9:15 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.

Wednesdays between 3:30 p.m. and 6:45 p.m.

**Children’s Theatre - April start date**

Mondays between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

**Children’s Art Programs - April start date**

Mondays between 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.

**Duties**
- Plan, organize, and deliver high quality, safe and stimulating activities for preschool/children programs.
- Maintain a safe and clean program space; as well as ensure equipment/supplies are safe, age appropriate and stored properly.
- Completes administrative duties (ie. Attendance, Accident/Incident Reports, opening and closing duties etc.).
- Take action to deal with incidents, problems, and emergencies as outlined in City of Guelph policies and procedures.
- Report all concerns, accidents, and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action.
- Maintain an understanding of department programs and services.
- Provide a high level of customer service to participants and caregivers.
- Attend meetings/training as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**
- Experience working with preschoolers/children, preferably in a recreation setting.
- Experience creating and delivering programming.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to respect and maintain participant confidentiality.
- A satisfactory Police Record Check including Vulnerable Sector Check is required at time of offer.

**Rate**

$17.05 per hour
