**Summary**

**Job Duties**

The MAJOR TASKS are listed below, but the incumbent may be assigned to other duties as needed within the department;
- Review damage report and estimates of repair cost and plan work to be performed
- Repair and replace front end components, body components, doors and frame and underbody components
- Hammer out dents, buckles and other defects using blocks and hammers
- Operate soldering equipment or use plastic filler to fill holes, dents and seams
- Remove damaged fenders, panels and grills using wrenches and cutting torch and bolt or weld replacement parts into place
- Straighten bent frames using frame and underbody pulling and anchoring equipment
- File, grind and sand repaired body surfaces using hand and power tools
- Repair and replace glass components such as windshields, windows and sunroofs
- Repair or replace interior components, such as seat frame assembly, carpets and floorboard insulation

**Requirements**:

- **Successful completion of the Auto Body and Collision Technician course at NBCC ,as well as, over three years of work experience in the motor vehicle body repair trade**:

- **Interprovincial trade certification (Red Seal) preferred**:

- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner
- Ability to Read and Write and have effective verbal and listening communications skills
- Time management skills - Work well under pressure - High Paced Environment
- Critical eye for identifying defects
- Commitment to quality and safety
- Ability to readily determine the correct tools and equipment needed to do a job.
- Ability to work independently and complete daily
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform strenuous physical labor.
- Must maintain all required OH&S certifications, must ensure a safe workplace and are responsible for your own safety and the safety of others in the workplace.
- **Must be able to provide and maintain a valid NB driver’s license, drivers abstract and criminal background check**

**Work Conditions**
- Must be able to lift to 50lbs, twist, turn, bend and stand for long periods of time without restriction
- Busy Shop environment, Noise level is generally loud.
- Requires good manual dexterity (hand, hand with arm, two hands) and multi-limb coordination.
- Hazards associated with the industry.
- Must wear PPE and follow safety standards at all times

Licence/Certification:

- Red Seal license in Autobody (preferred)
