Bridlewood Animal Hospital is a well-established small animal practice focused on treating our patients and clients with the highest quality of care possible. Our Veterinary Assistants work both independently and with the rest of the team to ensure a smooth flow for the day.

We are currently hiring a full-time veterinary assistant. We are looking for someone who is a team player with a positive attitude who shows up ready to work and is excited to be part of the veterinary team.

Our Veterinary Assistants support the technicians and veterinarians with appointments and surgery/dentistry including: intake and care of patients, restraint, treatment administration, medication preparation, exam room cleaning, and cleaning of hospital.

**Duties and Responsibilities: Veterinary Assistant (VA)**
- Assist technician with treatments
- Care for hospitalized patients
- Assist in appointments, surgery and dentistry
- Answer phones and help clients
- General cleaning and maintenance of the clinic
- Stocking medical supplies
- Laundry
- Other projects and duties as required

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**

**Education**:

- High School Diploma
- Completion of a VA certificate or other equivalent certificate an asset

**Experience**:

- Experience working in a customer service-oriented work environment is desired
- Experience in an animal care setting is an asset

**Skills**:

- Organized and enthusiastic, with excellent interpersonal and computer skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Attention to detail
- Able to lift pets weighing more than 50 pounds

**Salary**: $16.00-$17.00 per hour
