This position is responsible to promote safe working practices in a safe and orderly environment. The Plant Superintendent shall direct and co-ordinate, through a team of Area Managers/Supervisory personnel, activities such as production in a metal stamping facility, provide knowledge of product technology, production methods and capabilities of machines and equipment. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Understand all aspects of Health & Safety in accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and its regulations
5 or more years experience preferred
Understand quality control, production standards and efficiencies
Have the knowledge of machines and equipment
Proper leadership and coaching abilities
Proficient computer skills using Microsoft office
Able to work in a unionized environment, able to resolve issues in grievances, discipline, and health & safety

Other:

- Experience in automotive production environment
- Able to supervise subordinates
- Very involved floor, hands on management style a must
- Strong organizational & multi-tasking skills
