**Located in Ottawa, Ontario, Central Precast was **established in 1956 and began manufacturing precast concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility grew to include landscape products, steps, and architectural panels and is part of **The Precast Group**, the largest precast concrete products producer in Eastern Ontario. The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast, M Con Products and Utility Structures Inc. Our mission is to meet the demands of our customers and employees, in a safe working environment, where service and quality are at the forefront. **We have an immediate opening for a Forklift Operator.**

**Overview**

Forklift drivers are responsible for aiding in all areas of the precast plant. They are responsible for loading, unloading and moving materials throughout the yard and plant. They participate in general housekeeping and other various tasks.

**Responsibilities**
- Operate a variety of equipment to load, unload and move materials and products
- Load, unload and move products and materials by hand, or with basic material handling equipment
- Organize and maintain inventory throughout the plant and yard
- Sort, crate and stack goods
- Wrap goods
- Weigh materials and goods
- Store cargo and materials
- Make labels and attach to goods

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Education Required**
- High School Diploma
- Forklift Operator Certification

**Years of Experience**
- 1 year to less than 2 years Specific Experience
- Self-starter, with an excellent work ethic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong team player with a positive attitude
- Handling heavy loads
- Physically demanding, bending, crouching, kneeling
- Prior experience in a precast concrete plant would be a strong asset

**Competencies**
- Maintain a high level of safety at all times
- Able to work in a fast-paced, high production environment
- Willing to work overtime and shifts when needed including Saturdays
- Able to work unsupervised motivated to complete all tasks
- Able to communicate and work well with others in a team environment
- Repetitive tasks
- Maintain a professional attitude at all times, especially when handling stressful situations

**Equipment and Machinery**
- Forklift Licence
- Basic material moving equipment
- Hand tools, including drills, hammers

**Own Tools/Equipment**
- Steel-toed safety boots

**Working Conditions**
- Wage: $21- $24/hour, based on experience
- Unionized, permanent, Full-time, 44 hours/week

**Salary**: $21.00-$24.00 per hour
