**Marmon Industrial Water** is currently seeking a Health and Safety Manager, North America to join our team. This role will have responsibility for overseeing the health and safety programs for locations in Canada and US, providing guidance, leadership and fostering a proactive safety culture.
**Overview of Responsibilities**:
- Partners with business leaders on managing risk and establishing effective programs to ensure our facilities and operational sites are safe and healthy for our teams.
- Assess, recommend and implement a comprehensive Health, Safety and Environment program, building on the strong existing foundation.
- Proactively supports and fosters a safety culture at all facilities.
- With support from site teams, ensures that all compliance reports, forms and documentation is maintained as appropriate.
- Conducts disciplined schedule of internal audits, COR and other compliance audits.
- Participates in safety committees, drives proactive safety leadership.
- Investigates accidents and near misses, looking to root cause. Makes resulting recommendations to management on preventive measures.
- Manages complex claims and return to work process for work related injuries.
- Creates, maintains and presents safety metrics both leading and lagging.
- Makes recommendations to management on improvements and new initiatives, implements improvements.
- Completes required environmental compliance reports and assessments for plant locations.
- Works as part of internal project teams to establish safety standards on project sites as needed.
- Works closely with colleagues on a variety of projects and priorities.
- Develops strong working relationships with employees and supervisors at field locations to contribute to a collaborative, positive work environment.
- Effectively represents Company to clients and regulatory representatives.
- Flexible and readily takes on other duties as required to support business priorities.
**Requirements**:
- Comprehensive knowledge of H&S legislation and best practices in Canada and US.
- Post Secondary education in safety or related.
- 7+ years of experience in Health & Safety focused role; ideally in a construction or industrial equipment setting.
- Proven experience leading others and influencing change.
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills.
- A proven problem solver, with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Available for travel to various work locations, at times on short notice (up to. 50% travel).
