**RESPONSIBILITIES**

Complete departmental cleaning as required.
- Serve food to residents observing special diet restrictions, resident preferences and outlined departmental procedures.
- Load and safely operate dishwasher. Complete manual dishwashing as required.
- Set up serving carts and meal trays.
- Prepare beverages and snacks and deliver to designated areas.
- Clear tables, clean and reset for next service.
- Perform kitchen cleanup duties.
- Sort silverware and refill condiments.
- Take out garbage and recyclable materials.
- Sweep and mop floor and assist in scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Keep work areas clean, dry and free of hazardous equipment and supplies, etc.
- Follow all company policies and procedures including fire and safety programs.
- Perform other related duties that may be assigned from time to time.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

Previous serving experience, preferably in a retirement home.
- Ability to follow oral and written directions.
- Ability to lift heavy objects, stand and walk short distances throughout the day and to tolerate heat from kitchen area.
- Must hold a Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- Must hold Smart Serve Certificate.
- Must be willing to work as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitude.
- Experience working in a retirement residence setting is an asset.
- Must be able to multi-task.
- Demonstrate patience, tolerance and politeness when responding to residents and visitors to the residence.
- Excellent customer service skills and strong interpersonal skills
- Must be willing to work as a team player and demonstrate a positive attitude
- Must provide a vulnerable sector police check.
- Bilingualism is an asset.

Pay: From $17.92 per hour
