The Seabird Island Band is a multi-faceted First Nations Band that includes government, business, service, and nonprofit services. We work as an integrated team to improve the health, education, and economic opportunities for First Nations people to create thriving First Nations families and communities.
**Position Summary**
Reporting to the Director of Infrastructure, the Fleet Management coordinator performs a variety of duties to ensure that Seabird Island band’s vehicles are maintained in a cost-effective manner.
Scheduling usage, staffing dispatch along with coordinating all licensing, inspection, and insurance requirements. Work within all departments and facilitating transportation’s needs.

**Qualifications/Requirements**
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Knowledge of auto mechanics
- 2+ years of administrative experience required
- Complies with Labor Canada, Work Safe BC, and WHIMIS regulations
- Customer focus with an eye for detail and delivering results
- Procurement experience considered an asset
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to adhere to Oath of Confidentiality and Seabird Island Band Policies and Procedures
- Knowledge, respect and understanding of Stó:lō culture, traditions and language is considered an asset
- Experience working with First Nations community is considered an asset
- Valid BC Driver’s License, Class 5 and Class 2
- Satisfactory Criminal Record Check
**Primary Responsibilities**
- Review schedule requisitions, passenger counts and cargo, running times, distances, personnel availability,
- establish schedule parameters
- Prioritizes and takes action to correct vehicle safety deficiencies
- Good working relationships with all departments
- Design new or modify existing schedules using computer software or other methods
- Compile equipment and personnel records for hours in service, distances,
- Maintenance, repairs required and other data, to produce operating reports
- Safety reporting, all incidents and vehicle damage
- Work within the annual budget
- Oversee annual driver abstracts
- Oversee insurance and inspection of commercial vehicles
- Complete Purchase orders within policy standards
- Schedule all cleaning services for fleet vehicles, take appropriate safety and environmental measures in using and disposing of lubricants, coolants and filters.
- May prepare user guides and other public service information.
Other duties or responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor, Manager, Director, or the CAO
