**Materials Testing - Laboratory Technician**

**Responsibilities**:
Your duties will include, but not be limited to:

- Main responsibility would be testing day to day samples, from the private sector and/or government contracts;
- Laboratory Testing of asphalt and/or concrete, aggregate and soils;
- Field quality control of construction materials;
- Materials sampling;
- Data entry and calculations;
- Technologists are expected to flag failed test results to their supervisor;
- Learn to personally organize their own daily tasks based on the work flow and due dates give to them;
- Maintain laboratory and personal work area in a clean and professional manner, and;
- Test equipment and conduct scheduled maintenance on tested equipment.

**Job Requirements**:

- CCIL certified (HMA);
- CET Certification is considered an asset;
- Know and be comfortable with standards codes such as ASTM, LS, CSA, etc;
- Must be able to read, understand and follow work instructions in a safe, accurate and timely manner;
- Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly professional environment;
- Ability to work well with others and independently;
- Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail;
- Excellent communication skills, and;
- Valid driver’s license with access to a personal vehicle.

**Salary**: $20.00-$21.00 per hour
