**Job Summary** We are looking for an individual to join our pizza team, with a culinary and customer service skill set. Our operation's responsibilities typically include preparing pizzas, taking customer orders, providing customer service, and maintaining a clean workspace. They may also be involved in tasks like preparing ingredients, operating kitchen equipment, handling cash transactions, and potentially assisting with deliveries or other duties as assigned. **Tasks & Responsibilities May include**: - **Food Preparation**:This includes mainly assembling pizzas according to recipes and customer specifications. Minor food preparation tasks such as portioning, making basic sauces and preparing pizza toppings - **Order Taking and Customer Service**:Greeting customers, taking orders accurately (in person and/or over the phone) and providing excellent service to encourage repeat business. - **Cash Handling**:Processing payments, handling cash transactions, and ensuring accuracy in financial transactions. - **Maintaining a Clean and Organized Workspace**:Cleaning work areas, stocking supplies, and ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are presentable. This includes dishwashing and overall "house keeping" of the pizza shop, such as bathroom clean up and dusting. - **Operating Equipment**:Utilizing ovens, food preparation equipment, and point-of-sale (POS) systems. - **Inventory Management**:May be involved in tracking inventory, rotating stock, and notifying management of shortages. - **Food Safety and Sanitation**:Adhering to food safety guidelines and maintaining a clean and sanitized workspace. - **Assisting with deliveries**: - **Working as part of a team** **Qualifications** - Previous experience in the food industry, particularly in food preparation or cooking roles, is preferred. - Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling techniques is essential. - Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail. - Strong teamwork skills with the ability to communicate with the rest of the team. - A passion for preparing quality food and delivering friendly & efficient customer service. - Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends as needed. - Are able to switch from kitchen needs to customer needs with ease. - Serving It Right and Food Safe Certification, not essential but highly preferred. **Job Type**: Part-time Pay: $18.00-$22.00 per hour Expected hours: 10 - 20 per week Additional pay: - Overtime pay - Tips **Benefits**: - Casual dress - Discounted or free food - Flexible schedule - On-site parking - Store discount Schedule: - 4 hour shift - Evening shift - Every Weekend - On call **Experience**: - kitchen/customer service: 2 years (preferred) **Language**: - English (required) **Location**: - Victoria, BC V9C 1J8 (required) Work Location: In person
