**Job Overview**
Reporting to the Principals, the School Psychologist will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive psychological services to students from Grade 10 to 12, working collaboratively with school staff, families, and other clinical professionals. This position is crucial for Southeast Collegiate's commitment to addressing the unique psychological needs of Indigenous students within a system that has historically faced difficulties in engagement. While a demanding undertaking, this role offers a profoundly rewarding and purposeful opportunity for a capable, competent, and proactive individual dedicated to helping students close educational and well-being gaps.

**Employment**:Full-Time TERM (12 months)**

Possibility of being renewed into a permanent position, depending on performance and operational needs

**Schedule**:Monday through Friday

**Hours**: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify student learning, social, emotional, and behavioral challenges.
- Interpret assessment results to diagnose needs and develop evidence-based recommendations for behavioral and learning strategies.
- Design and implement individualized and group interventions tailored to student needs.
- Provide expert consultation to teachers, administrators, and the wellness team to foster a supportive school environment and enhance learning outcomes.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of school-wide programs promoting academic success (literacy and numeracy), mental well-being, and positive behavior.
- Facilitate strong collaboration with school staff, families, and external agencies to ensure holistic and integrated student support.
- Lead the development and implementation of systemic initiatives that enhance student mental health, academic achievement, and a positive school climate.
- Develop and deliver professional development sessions for staff on best practices in student care and support.
- Offer critical support during student crises and participate in threat assessment protocols.
- Uphold the highest ethical standards and maintain strict confidentiality in all professional interactions.
- Other duties as assigned by the Principals
- Duties may evolve or change over time to more effectively support students and staff

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s Degree in School Psychology from an accredited institution, coupled with relevant clinical experience.
- Possession of, or eligibility to obtain, a valid Manitoba School Psychologist Certificate.
- Demonstrated completion of formal training and practical experience in the administration and interpretation of psycho-educational assessments.
- Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and strong computer proficiency.
- Proven experience or a demonstrated deep commitment and interest in working effectively with Indigenous students and understanding their diverse needs.
- Excellent organizational skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines.
- Extensive knowledge and clinical experience in adolescent development, mental health, school and community systems, learning and behavior disorders, and cognitive function.
- Profound understanding and respect for culturally appropriate Indigenous practices and perspectives.
- Commitment to professional self-care and maintaining healthy personal & professional boundaries to mitigate stress
- Clear Current Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record Check (required)

**Employees with treaty status under the Indian Act are exempt from federal income tax at SEC.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: $65,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
