Food Service Worker

Preference will be given to individuals who are certified, currently enrolled, or willing to enroll in the _Food Service Workers _from a recognized institution; and/or have successfully completed their Food Handlers Certificate from Public Health Unit and is current; 3X Covid Vaccination. Police check and TB testing required. **_STUDENT Friendly _**( >17yrs+ only require Public Health Food Handler Certificate, police check and vaccination) - **_DUTIES _**include: setting/clearing dining tables, portioning food selections from steamtable for residents as outlined; preparing beverage cart with coffee/tea, snacks; warewashing, garbage/laundry removal, sweeping, mopping; preparation of special labelled snacks, portioning of desserts - Must be able to read, write and accurately follow written and verbal instructions. - Must have reliable transportation - Must demonstrate proper food preparation and presentation for a variety of cultural preferences. - Must be knowledgeable about the Long-Term Care Act - Must be knowledgeable of special, therapeutic, and texture modified diets - Must be physically able to lift and transfer heavy, hot items and stand for majority of shift. - Must be able to work accurately, quickly, and safely. - Must be an effective team player that works well with others. - Must be able to work and communicate effectively with long-term care residents.
