**About the role**

We are seeking a skilled **L3 Networking Administrator with Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in FortiGate firewalls** to join our dynamic team at a leading MSP. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, securing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures across multiple client environments. This role demands deep technical expertise, client-facing professionalism, and a proactive approach to network operations and incident resolution.

**What you’ll do**:

- Serve as the FortiGate SME, leading the design, deployment, and troubleshooting of Fortinet firewall solutions across client networks.
- Provide L3-level support for complex network issues, acting as an escalation point for L1/L2 engineers.
- Manage and maintain firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, SD-WAN, and wireless solutions in multi-tenant MSP environments.
- Analyze network performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend improvements or upgrades.
- Lead and support network migrations, firewall policy revamps, and onboarding of new clients.
- Work directly with client IT teams to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Perform firewall rule audits, VPN configurations (site-to-site and remote access), and high-availability setups.
- Document network diagrams, configurations, standard operating procedures, and incident resolutions.
- Ensure network infrastructure aligns with security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., ISO 27001, SOC 2).
- Participate in occasional after hours for high-severity incidents and scheduled maintenance windows.

**What we’re looking for**:

- 5+ years of experience in networking, including L3 troubleshooting, design, and architecture.
- Expertise in Fortinet FortiGate firewalls (including FortiManager, FortiAnalyzer, FortiAP, FortiSwitch).
- Strong hands-on experience with:

- Routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
- VLANs, VPNs (IPSec, SSL), NAT, QoS, SD-WAN
- Switch and router configurations (Cisco, HP, Aruba, etc.)
- Experience in multi-tenant or MSP environments is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of network security principles and firewall rule management.
- Familiarity with cloud networking (Azure, GCP) and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Proficient in using network monitoring and management tools (e.g., PRTG, SolarWinds, Zabbix).
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication for documentation and client interaction.
- Bilingualism (English and French)

Certifications (preferred):

- Fortinet NSE 4 or above (NSE 5, 6, or 7 preferred)
- Cisco CCNP (or equivalent experience)
- CompTIA Network+ / Security+
- Other relevant certifications (e.g., Azure Networking, AWS Networking, Palo Alto, etc.)
