Demeter Veterinary Services is part of a Canadian team of 20 veterinarians dedicated to the swine industry. The head office is located in Levis, Quebec, while local operations are performed from Woodstock, Ontario. We support swine producers in Ontario, but also across Canada through the collaboration with 3 other veterinary offices and pharmacies (Quebec, Manitoba and Alberta). Customer service and support is our top priority. Your first priority will be to serve Ontario producers. In addition, you will also work closely with the full DVS team in order to continuously improve the different services provided to the entire Canadian customer base. **Responsibilities**

**Accounting Manager**; main responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

- Responsible for the full accounting cycle
- Manage and execute with the help of team members all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, Gross Margin analysis, Inventory Accounting and Revenue Recognition
- Manage cash flow
- Plan, assign and review team members’ work
- Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements to head office
- Month-end and year-end close process
- Manage and comply with provincial and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Manage cash flow for DVSPC
- Present and interpret monthly financial reports for DVSPC and Minerva to partners
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Effectively manage team members working in the accounting department including their training, assigned tasks and satisfactory work completion.

**Office Manager**; main responsibilities of this position include, but not limited to:

- Oversight of the day-to-day operations of DVSPC
- Oversight and aid in daily, monthly and yearly accounting tasks for DVSPC
- Address all customer needs in accounting
- Ensure daily, monthly and yearly accounting tasks for DVSPC are completed fully and on schedule
- Oversee the local implementation of any new processes or responsibilities (e.g. AP)
- Manage expenses, approvals and budgets
- Oversee monthly gross margin analysis and adjust appropriately
- Address any customer or supplier needs or complaints appropriately and suggests improvements
- Audit billing procedures for both DVSPC
- Oversee staff responsibilities for DVSPC, understand work delegation and performance
- Participate in staff reviews and discipline, highlight concerns to address
- Oversee inventory min/max, highlight products to review
- Ensure proper inventory management and value
- Oversee correct procedures for payroll, expenses and deductions
- Manage all supplier contracts for local office
- Manage building maintenance needs, expansion
- Aid in hiring needs and process
- Ensure we are providing the services required for our customers at the highest standards
- Address any customer complaints appropriately
- Organize office staff meetings when appropriate and ensure processes are followed
- Help with any daily requests from partners

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA designation is not a requirement, but valued.
- Proven experience in a senior financial management role.
- Extensive knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and budgeting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience in office management and administration.
