Counsellor - Turning Point: Youth & Family

Youth for Christ Winnipeg is looking for a well-organized Counsellor who is passionate about providing professional and affordable care and has a heart for ministry. Located at 333 King St, the Turning Point ministry serves to see every young person living fully in Christ by establishing a supportive environment where youth and their families are connected with skilled, trained, and caring Counsellors, and given the opportunity and tools to make healthy, life-giving choices.
**Responsibilities**
- Working among an existing team of counsellors, provide individual counselling and mental health support to youth and families.
- Provide support to YFC staff and volunteers in their work with youth through resources, referrals, educational opportunities or counselling.
- Connect clients to various resources as needed.
- Network with other community agencies to provide the best collaborative care for the youth and families we serve.
**Requirements**:
- Maintain a close, intimate relationship with God as a devoted follower of Jesus Christ.
- Be an active participant in the life of a local church.
- Affirm and support our organization’s Community Covenant and Statement of Faith, and be committed to YFC’s mission.
- Master's degree in counselling or a related field.
- Membership with a professional counselling association.
- Prior counselling experience with youth and families would be an asset. -Embrace YFC’s core values with a strong heart for evangelism.
- Strong communication, organizational and administrative skills.
- Take initiative, pay close attention to details, and be willing to adapt.
- Able to work well in a team as well as on your own.
- Ability to manage an appropriate number of clients while maintaining a high standard of professional and ethical care.
