Kan-Arm Contracting Ltd. has an established surface mine located in Agassiz BC known for being a provider of top-quality aggregate material including hard rock, gravel and sand products. We are looking to expand our team with the addition of a dedicated, experienced Heavy Equipment Operator who is looking for a long-term career with a competitive salary offer.

**Summary**

**Heavy Equipment Operator Duties**:

- Operate heavy equipment (Loaders: CAT 980 and 988 series andExcavators: CAT 300-500 series)
- Load raw materials such as aggregates into crushers, haul trucks, or stockpiles.
- Conduct daily pre-operation inspections and routine maintenance checks to ensure equipment safety and performance.
- Adhere to all safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with plant and scale house personnel to maintain efficient production flow.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, both in and around the equipment.

**Qualifications**:

- Proven experience operating heavy equipment in a quarry, mining, or construction setting.
- Proficient in operating CAT 300-500 series excavators and CAT 980/988 series loaders.
- Valid heavy equipment operator certification(s) and a clean driving record.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and quarry site procedures.
- Physical ability to work in rugged outdoor conditions and perform manual tasks as needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

**Experience**:

- Excavators: CAT 300-500 series: 2 years (required)
- Loaders: CAT 980 and 988 series: 2 years (required)
- Heavy Duty Mechanics (preferred)

**License/Certification**:

- Class 1 License with Air Brakes Certification (preferred but not required)

**Wage is dependent on experience.**

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $32.00-$36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 - 50 per week

Additional pay:

- Overtime pay

- 10 hour shift
- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Agassiz, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
