**Position: Part Time**Recreation Aide

Reporting to the Recreation Director, the Recreation Aide will assist in the planning, organization, and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Planning and implementing meaningful programs for the residents in conjunction with the Recreation Director
- Evaluating and documenting the progress of the residents to meet their changing physical, mental and social needs
- Maintains effective communication with residents, families, volunteers, and staff of other departments, keeping them informed of current and upcoming events.
- Attends in-services for continuing education on the comfort, care, needs and recreational activities for the residents
- Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents' interest in mind.
- Preparing, carrying out and evaluating daily activities.
- Assisting with meal services as required.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Working evenings and weekends

**Qualifications**

- College diploma in Recreation or Leisure Studies is required.
- Previous experience working with seniors.
- Proficiency in Point Click Care
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- An energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly.
- Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Position/Sector Screening (VPS).
