**We are excited to be recruiting for a Part Time Restaurant Supervisor at The Wood Tavern/Pauline’s Bistro, located inside the Norwood Hotel.**

The Norwood has always been an innovative leader in the hotel industry. The Norwood Hotel has an interesting and diverse history dating back to the latter part of the 1800’s. The earliest records available indicate a photograph of the hotel in 1895. In 1937, the Hotel came under the ownership of the late Merle Sparrow and has been operated by the Sparrow family ever since. This longevity in ownership makes the Norwood the oldest operated family hotel in Manitoba and one, if not the oldest in all of Western Canada.

The Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all operations on the hotel restaurant floor. Ensuring the highest standards of customer expectations and services are met or exceeded. Maintaining prompt, courteous and professional service to bistro, tavern & vlt lounge guests whenever the situation arises.

**Duties**:

- Responsible for continually assessing all F&B service areas and staff on duty.
- Checks staff wall in kitchen, makes sure all information is timely and accurate, and removes any material that may not belong. Also looks over the 86 board and confirms all out-of-stock items are posted, or have been removed when they return to stock, cross references this with squirrel.
- Reviews the current shift, next shift, and current reservations for the week in Open Table and reviews staff on hand as well checking BEO folder.
- Verifies & records petty cash to $1000, counts bar float to $250, puts float and bar keys in Bar till.
- Performs regular table checks during peak periods to ensure customer expectations and restaurant standards are being met. Any negative feedback should be documented in the MOD log book, and discussed further at the weekly MOD meeting. Positive feedback should always be mentioned to the guest’s server.
- Ensures that weekly cleaning duties list is updated and cleaning duties are done.
- Ensures that actual hours for today’s staff are entered. Determines labor costs for the day.
- Ensure Bar PM float is received, recounted and put in safe along with wine dispenser cards.
- Ensure Bar keys and host float are left on manager’s desk for opening host the following day.
- Responsible for reviewing closing duties with Bar PM staff.
- Ensures all “End of day” (EOD) paperwork and reports are done and G-mailed as required.
- Ensures all cash out envelopes are dropped into front desk safe and room service bills and EOD reports are given to night auditor.
- Ensures host phone is forwarded correctly, and that patio, sunroom, beer fridge and wine cage doors are locked before leaving for the day.

- At least 2 years of direct Food & Beverage Supervisor experience
- Positive and hardworking attitude
- A professional appearance, energetic and outgoing personality
- Ability to effectively communicate with team members
- Should be able to work in a team environment and individually

**This position is Part Time, and evening, weekend and holiday availability is required.**
