The Physics Technican I is responsible for performing irradiations, dosimetry measurements, maintenance on associated equipment as required, and preparing cobalt source loading configurations on Industrial Irradiators. The person will also be responsible for maintaining records, writing procedures, preparing reports, and assisting Physicists with development and technical support activities.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Perfoming irradations using the GC220 and/or similar.
- Performs dosimeter measurements and reports as required.
- Writes dosimetry procedures and protocols, calibration reports and dosimetry reports under the general direction of a Physicist.
- May perform routine and non‑routine quality control analysis on raw material, in‑process material and finished product.
- Responsible for arranging source distribution to provide optimum radiation performance.
- Plans and prepares source loading packages including loading instructions, timer setting charts, radiation survey forms, dosimetry procedures, returned sources, etc. as required.
- Maintains and assists in improvements to Cobalt Management Program (or equivalent) that it is current and accurate. Provides reports to Sales and Marketing as required.
- Responsible for maintenance of associated irradiation physics files and proper dissemination of documents following field work.
- Performs other related tasks.

**Qualifications**

Minimum of Technologist Diploma (3 year) plus 5-6 years of relevant technical experience.

**Skills and Competencies**
- Organizational skills
- Must be able to focus for long periods of time on complex tasks.
- Basic knowledge of industrial scale irradiators, particularly radiation physics and how it impacts source configuration is required.
- Good knowledge of computers is required. Solid working experience with Microsoft Excel.
- A basic knowledge of dosimetry practices and protocols is required.

**Additional Requirements**

Training Required: Must complete all required training and certification as a Nuclear Energy Worker Training will be provided upon employment.
