Kobitex is looking to hire a Logistics Coordinator who will be focused on managing our transportation and storage of our chemical products in both sea and land lanes. This individual would be based in our downtown Toronto offices.
**Job Title**:Supply Chain & Logistics Coordinator
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Monitor and track shipments to ensure timely delivery and address any issues that arise during transit
- Coordinate and oversee the transportation of chemical products via sea and ground routes, ensuring compliance with various regulations
- Manage relationships with shipping companies, port authorities, customs officials, ground transportation providers, and vendors to facilitate smooth logistics operations.
- Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers and vendors to secure cost-effective and reliable transportation services.
- Maintaining inventory records accurately while collaborating with internal teams to forecast demand and plan for future sourcing needs
- Prepare and review shipping documentation, including bills of lading, import/export permits, hazardous material declarations, and other relevant documentation
- Optimize logistics processes to reduce costs and improve efficiency, including route planning and carrier selection
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations related to the handling and transportation of chemical products.
- Collaborate with internal teams (e.g., sales, finance and customer service) to align logistics operations with business and customer’s objectives
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to enhance performance across all modes of transportation
- Provide thought leadership and guidance to colleagues such as best practices and regulatory requirements for both sea and ground transportation
- Develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in the supply chain, such as port closures, shipping delays, and other challenges that may come your way
**Role Requirements**:
- College and/or Bachelor's degree - supply chain or chemical based focus area a plus
- Certifications in Maritime Studies, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is a nice to have.
- Strong understanding of maritime regulation and compliance and knowledge of international shipping procedures and documentation
- Proven experience effectively driving logistics activities in prior roles, experience in the chemical industry is a plus
- Ability to analyze and interpret data to optimize logistics processes
- Strong problem-solving skills to address logístical challenges and team-work mentality
- Experience negotiating with logistics suppliers and vendors
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 software and solutions
- English proficiency a must. French, Spanish, and/or Portuguese a nice to have
- Full time role, in office 5 days a week at our Downtown Toronto office
