**About the role**:
We are seeking a Category Manager to lead one of our core product portfolios within the West Four Group of Companies. This role owns category performance end to end and plays a key role in strengthening supplier partnerships, improving product programs, and supporting operational and sales execution.

This position requires a **hands-on, working Category Manager**. In addition to strategy and supplier management, the role is actively involved in product setup, pricing accuracy, bill of materials support, and day-to-day category execution.

The Category Manager works closely with Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Finance and assumes accountability for a defined portfolio as responsibilities transition from senior leadership into category ownership.

**What You'll Do**:

- Own and execute category strategies aligned to cost, margin, service, and inventory objectives.
- Take a hands-on role in category execution, including product setup, bill of materials support, pricing accuracy, and item data governance.
- Manage and develop supplier relationships, including vendor selection, pricing, and performance reviews.
- Collaborate with Procurement and Operations to ensure supply continuity and appropriate inventory levels.
- Analyze market trends, sales performance, margin, and category profitability to identify improvement opportunities.
- Partner with Sales and Marketing to support programs, promotions, and category growth initiatives.
- Support negotiation of buying agreements, rebates, and supplier programs in collaboration with the Director of Procurement.
- Oversee product lifecycle management including new introductions, transitions, and discontinuations.
- Support and mentor Category Coordinators to ensure effective execution, reporting, and analytics.
- Track and report on key category KPIs including sales, margin, turnover, and supplier performance.
- Operate effectively in an evolving environment where processes and structures continue to mature

**Who You Are**:

- Five or more years of experience in category management, procurement, or product management within manufacturing, distribution, or building materials.
- Direct experience with Division 8 (Openings) and/or Division 10 (Specialties) products is required.
- Comfortable balancing strategic thinking with detailed, hands-on execution.
- Strong understanding of sourcing, vendor management, and cost analysis.
- Confident working with ERP or MRP systems (S2K Enterprise, SAP, or similar) and Excel.
- A strong collaborator who builds trust across Procurement, Operations, Sales, and Finance.
- Organized, adaptable, and comfortable managing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A practical problem solver with a continuous improvement mindset.
- A degree or diploma in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field is preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered.

Pay: $84,250.00-$114,750.00 per year
