Communications and Philanthropy Manager

Orijin Village is seeking a dynamic and proactive Communications and Philanthropy Manager for a new full-time role. We are looking for an individual with integrity, initiative, and enthusiasm. We offer a stimulating environment where teamwork is valued.
**Job Summary**:
Under the supervision of the CEO, the Communications and Philanthropy Manager will be responsible for supporting the executive team in developing and implementing market development and communication strategies to promote Orijin Village and Unite and Prosper (UP) to various target audiences. The goal is to promote the organization's mandate, programming, and initiatives.
This position also involves close collaboration with the projects and events department.
**Responsibilities**:
- **Communication and Philanthropy Strategy**:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy to promote Orijin Village's initiatives and raise awareness among various stakeholders.
- Design and lead fundraising and philanthropy campaigns to support Orijin Village's programs and projects, collaborating closely with donors, partners, and potential funders.
- **Communication Management**:
- Craft clear and consistent messages to represent the organization to the public, media, and partners.
- Write press releases, speeches, blog posts, and other communication materials to disseminate Orijin Village's initiatives and successes.
- **Public Relations and Partnerships**:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with media, influencers, and partners to increase the organization's visibility.
- Establish strategic partnerships with philanthropic organizations, businesses, and individuals to increase financial support and resources.
- **Donor and Member Management**:
- Manage the donation process, acknowledge donors' generosity, and maintain positive relationships with them.
- Oversee and expand the network of subscribers across various social media platforms.
- **Reporting and Analysis**:
- Monitor and evaluate the impact of communication campaigns and fundraising initiatives, providing regular performance reports and proposing recommendations for continuous improvement.
**Your Contribution to Orijin Village Team**:
- Bachelor's degree in communication or marketing, or a minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate, nonprofit, or agency communications.
- Strong understanding of digital transformation, entrepreneurship landscape in Quebec and Ontario, and issues related to Afro-descendant communities.
- Bilingualism required (French & English.
- Strategic vision and analytical skills.
- Proficiency in social media platforms (FB, IG, Twitter, etc.).
- Project management skills.
- Creativity and ability to produce graphic materials.
- Proficiency with digital platforms.
- Excellent writing skills and video editing capabilities.
- Proficiency in Adobe software suite: Photoshop, InDesign, Premiere Pro.
- Familiarity with content management software (Squarespace, Mailchimp, etc.).
- Proficiency in Google Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Forms).
- Excellent command of both French and English, written and oral.
- Initiative, autonomy, creativity, versatility, and attention to detail.
