Ucp/personal Support Worker

Follow each resident's care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings or changes to the nursing staff on duty

  • Assist in ambulation, toileting, bathing and perineal care, as well as dressing and grooming
  • Assist registered staff in answering call bells
  • Perform housekeeping tasks such as room cleaning and general sanitizing
  • Administer medication under the direction of an RPN
  • Be able to work and stay organized under pressure.
  • Be able to adapt to change and remain flexible.
  • Be able to work with and understand the needs of residents in various stages of the aging process.
  • Have experience in providing general care and support.
  • Be proficient in oral and written communication.
  • Have excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
  • Have previous experience as a UCP or be prepared to complete the required training and comfortable with medication administration.
  • Have a Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized institution or organization.
  • Experience in housekeeping will be an asset.

Recent Vulnerable Sectors check and TB test will be required upon hire.
