**Position Summary**

The Respite Worker plays a crucial role in providing temporary relief to primary caregivers by supporting children and youth with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in a centre-based setting. This position is ideal for compassionate and dedicated individuals who are passionate about working with neurodivergent individuals and fostering a safe, structured, and engaging environment. Compassion is mandatory for this role.

**Duties**
- Support children and youth with ASD in daily activities that promote independence, social engagement, and life skills.
- Implement structured routines and strategies to support emotional regulation and behavioral goals.
- Assist with meal preparation and provide supervision during mealtime.
- Facilitate meaningful activities that encourage cognitive, sensory, motor skill development, and play skills.
- Provide companionship, emotional support, and positive reinforcement.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in accordance with health and safety protocols.
- Collaborate with families, therapists, and other professionals to ensure a consistent approach to care.
- Accurately document daily activities, progress, and any notable observations.

**Qualifications**
- Experience working with children and youth with ASD is mandatory.
- Post secondary education is preferred
- Understanding of behavior management techniques and sensory regulation strategies is an asset.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to foster trust and rapport with children and their families.
- Compassionate, patient, and committed to providing high-quality support.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and follow structured care plans.
- First Aid and a Criminal Record Check with a Vulnerable Sector Check are mandatory.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Casual

Pay: $20.90-$23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 15 per week
