We are hiring a Maintenance Technician to join our team in FreshPoint Nanaimo.

Reporting to the General Manager, the **Maintenance Technician** will be responsible for the overall daily maintenance of the warehouse facility and office areas. This includes repairing broken equipment or machinery, installation or setup of equipment, furniture or any required parts, attending to office repairs and more.

**Responsibilities**:

- Investigate, diagnose and repair broken equipment or machinery
- Installation and set up of equipment, furniture and other parts
- Overall maintenance of the warehouse and office areas
- Conduct preventative maintenance on warehouse equipment
- Grease, change or fix warehouse machinery on a cyclical basis
- Changing of light bulbs or electrical components
- Repairing of walls and changing and fixing light fixtures, door handles or doors
- Paint indoor or outdoor areas of the facility as required
- Communicate and provide timely status updates to General Manager
- Ensure all maintenance work is conducted within Safety, Food Safety, and Product Quality fundamental requirements
- Other duties as assigned

**Qualifications and Job Requirements**:

- Completion of Technical Diploma
- Minimum 2 years' experience as a maintenance technician, plumber, or as a general handyman
- Previous experience using a power jack or scissor lift considered a bonus
- Excellent communication skills and ability to converse with all levels of the organization
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of accuracy
- Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs required
- Ability to work in a refrigerated environment (0-5 degrees Celsius) for long periods of time
- Must be able to statutory holidays

**Location**:4911 Wellington Road, Nanaimo, BC V9T 2H5. This role is required to work onsite.

**Work Schedule**:

- Full-time, 40 hours per week
- Must be available to work 1 weekend shift (Saturday or Sunday) and 4 week day shifts
- Must be available to start as early as 6:30 am
- Required to work on statutory holidays
