**JOB DESCRIPTION**

Maynards Antique & Fine Art Ltd. is seeking to recruit a Porter for our auction room in Richmond. We are seeking a hard-working, self-motivated individual, capable of setting up and preparing the auction floor for viewing and sales, **carrying and moving large art and furniture pieces**, consigning and **controlling inventory**, and maintaining the security and cleanliness of the building and surroundings.

This position is full-time, with possible weekends and evening work during auctions, setup days, and previews. Extensive training will be provided.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Work with team members to **move and install furniture** and art pieces throughout the showroom.
- Communicate and coordinate with Auctioneers for upcoming sales, manage showroom space for incoming consignments, current sale, and all upcoming sales for preview.
- Identify and record incoming items for consignment.
- Maintain and track inventory, manage and organize items for upcoming auctions and unsold items for past sales.
- Track items sold during an auction, and release the correct items to clients.

**QUALIFICATION**
- High levels of fitness ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs. (**mandatory**)
- Must have great communication skills and attention to detail.
- Great work ethic with a friendly and pleasant demeanour.
- Ability to work independently.
- Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team.
- A second language is an asset.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
