Due to continued rapid growth and expansion of our Water Group in Ontario, our Construction Phase Services group is seeking an Intermediate Quality Assurance Inspector - Water/Wastewater to be based in our Toronto Area / Greater Toronto Area offices with diversified experience in Site Inspection and Contract Administration activities for Multi-Disciplinary Vertical, and Linear Infrastructure projects. _
- Responsibilities: _
- _Full-time site inspections/contract administration assistance on water and wastewater projects _
- _Primary liaison with Plant & Owner staff on general contract issues and coordination of works _
- _Daily detailed report, record, & photo keeping _
- _Review of monthly payment draws, and review of payment related administrative procedures _
- _Providing feedback and work with design engineers, contractor and owner to resolve field issues _
- _Keeping post construction records and provides progress reports to construction teams _
- _Working with construction team to ensure construction safety procedures are being followed _
- _Implementing and monitoring inspection procedures in accordance with professional and corporate guidelines, including quality control _
- _Able to work extended hours as project requires _
- _Ability to travel to, and reside locally (if necessary), as required for projects _
- _Completing required training including but not limited to Confined Space Entry and Working at Heights _
- _Work outdoors throughout the year in all weather conditions _
- _Mentoring of junior and intermediate staff _
- _Assist contract administrator with issuance of all site instructions, directions and correspondence _
- _Assist contract administrator and engineering team with review of shop drawings _
- _Assist with reporting on, and negotiate resolutions to construction issues with contractor and owner representatives. _
- _Assisting with conducting site meetings and write site meeting minute reports _
- Skills, Competencies and Qualifications: _
- _Minimum 5-10 years' experience, in water and/or wastewater treatment plant construction projects. _
- _CET designation, or PEO EIT or P.Eng. designation, or equivalent training and experience _
- _Valid Class ‘G’ driver’s license _
- _Strong teamwork ability with strong written and oral communication skills _
- _Sound judgment and ability to work independently and take initiative _
- _Experience in design of sewer & water main work is an asset _
- _AutoCAD, MS Project, and Primavera P6 experience is an asset _
- _Previous training and experience in confined space entry and/or Working at Heights training is an asset _
- _Certification as a Certified Inspector of Sediment & Erosion Control (CISEC) is an asset _
