The Trauma
- Informed Care Clinician will be integral in the development of Marymound’s Community Healing Services and will serve as a leader of a collaborative care team that specializes in neurobiology and Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT). They will have the ability to generate NMT metrics using the on-line clinical planning tool, experience in making appropriate recommendations based on the metric and the desire to support individuals and families affected by adverse events on their healing journey.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Using the NMT clinical planning tool, conduct thorough assessments of clients’ neurobiological responses to adverse events, including but not limited to, neurological function, stress response systems, and cognitive-emotional processing;
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based interventions grounded in neurobiology and trauma-informed care principles
- Provide trauma-informed systemic therapy to the individual and family as appropriate
- Educate clients and their support systems about the neurobiological effects of adverse events and relationships, empowering them to understand and navigate their daily experiences more effectively
- Contribute to the development of Community Healing Services at Marymound via membership on the implementation team
- Establish and maintain relationships with community agencies, organizations and practitioners to build a strong, reciprocal referral network
- Contribute to the development of policies, documentation and practice guidelines associated with Marymound’s Community Healing Services
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams including psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to ensure holistic care for clients with complex developmental histories;
- Stay informed of the latest advancements in neurobiology and trauma research, integrating innovative approaches into clinical practice to enhance treatment outcomes
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of client assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and discharge summaries in compliance with ethical and regulatory standards;
- Ensures compliance with the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA) and the Freedom of Information and Protection Privacy Act (FIPPA) at all times;
- Participate in supervision and provide clinical oversight to junior staff, interns, and trainees, fostering their professional growth and development in the field of neurobiology and trauma;
- Other duties as assigned.

**Qualifications**:

- Master’s degree in a relevant discipline (i.e. Social Work, Psychology, Marriage and Family Therapy etc.)
- Minimum of two years of experience providing clinical support including treatment planning to at-risk youth is required
- Specialized training and/or certification in trauma-focused therapeutic modalities.
- Certified in Phase 1 of the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics
- Extensive knowledge of neurobiology, particularly as it relates to stress, trauma, and resilience
- Experience and/or education in a complement of trauma-informed therapeutic modalities is an asset
- Proficiency and familiarity with addiction-related challenges, harm reduction techniques, and/or addressing issues of sexual exploitation is an asset
- Demonstrates a commitment to cultural humility, trauma-responsive care, and ethical practice
- Demonstrates an understanding of the impacts of colonization, privilege, and social location and how these can affect the therapeutic alliance
- Knowledge of Indigenous culture, or willingness to learn, including participating in cultural practices, programming and ceremonies and competency in incorporating these into treatment planning
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with clients in a compassionate and open-minded manner
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and documentation
- Demonstrates ability to work both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team, working across agencies/systems in the provision of coordinated care
- Mental health/crisis training certifications including NVCI (Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) and ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills) are considered an asset
- Must be comfortable and competent in de-escalation and promoting emotional regulation;
- Valid First Aid/CPR is require
