Optometric Assistant/receptionist

Toronto, Canada Dr Jessica Hall, Optometrist Full time

Optometry office in east Scarborough looking for an energetic, permanent full-time, Optometric Assistant, Optometric Receptionist or Medical Receptionist. Health administration, optometry office and or optical experience is required.

Duties include, and are not limited to:

- Book and confirm appointments
- Recalls
- Triage
- Process payments
- OHIP and insurance billing
- Maintain efficient patient flow
- Pretest patients (auto-refraction, fundus photos, OCT)
- Visual field testing
- Maintain specialist referrals
- Aid with selecting eyewear including frame and lenses
- Aid with measuring, adjusting, repairing and ordering glasses
- Maintain optical displays
- Maintain proper records
- Follow all office, health, safety, and privacy policies
- Other duties as required

Work Week: Monday to Friday, and one Saturday per month

Wages and increases will be based on experience and job performance.

**Salary**: From $18.00 per hour

Illness symptom screening, use of face masks for staff and patients, disinfecting, hand washing, vaccinations are recommended

**Education**:

- DCS / DEC (required)

**Experience**:

- medical or optometry office: 1 year (required)

**Language**:

- fluent English (required)
