**About the North Shore Disability Resource Centre (NSDRC)**:
The NSDRC provides innovative programs, services, housing and support to individuals with disabilities from infancy through adulthood. Our vision is one where every person can fully and actively participate in their community.

As an organization, we are evolving in exciting ways. NSDRC Children and Youth department is seeking a part time or full time Communiy Based Support Worker to work 1:1 with youth in our community.

**Education/Experience**:

- High School certificate (minimum) or equivalent
- One year experience providing support to people with disabilities
- A relevant combination of education and/or experience may be considered

**Skills and Knowledge**:

- Experience and/or knowledge of issues affecting people with disabilities
- Experience working with children and/or youth.
- Commitment to values and philosophy of NSDRC
- Well-developed communication skills
- Ability to deal with stress and change
- Time management and problem solving skills

**REQUIREMENTS**:
Ability to provide and/or participate in the following:

- Criminal Record Check
- Current Emergency Level First Aid
- Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Certification (sponsored by the NSDRC)
- Privacy and Information Sharing (MCFD, CLBC on-line training)
- Negative TB Test, or a clear chest x-ray
- Medical doctor’s note of good health

Hours: Flexible

**Job Type**: part-time permanent

**Salary**: $21.63 to $25.19
