We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Tactical Security Guard to join our team in Southcentre Mall. This position primarily focuses on deterring and responding to thefts and supporting the store team.

**Minimum 3-5 Years experience in a tactical guard role, with experience conducting safe apprehensions is required.**

As a Security Guard in the retail sector, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for both customers and staff. You will represent our commitment to excellence to protect our clients. Your strong deterring presence, communication skills, attention to detail, proactive actions and professionalism will be essential in providing top-notch customer service and diffusing potentially challenging situations.

**Position: Tactical Security Guard - Retail Sector**
**Location: Southcentre Mall**

**Shift Times**:
Monday to Wednesday: 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Thursday - Friday: 1:00pm-9:00pm

**Responsibilities**:

- Adhere to all SOPs to deter and detect security threats
- Ability to use CCTV camera surveillance systems when requested
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Collaborate with store staff via radios to prevent theft and ensure loss prevention
- Respond to emergencies and incidents, following established protocols
- Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records
- Must be comfortable conducting safe apprehensions and be able to demonstrate proper use of force techniques.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge in relevant legal frameworks, such as Criminal Code of Canada, Citizens Powers of Arrest, and **Trespass to Property Act**:

- Access to a vehicle is an asset but not a requirement. (Reliable Transportation Required)
- Reliable means of Communication (Phone)

**Qualifications**:

- Punctuation and Reliability (Zero Tolerance Policy for Tardiness)
- Valid Alberta Security Guard License
- 3-5 years tactical security experience, preferably in a retail or similar environment
- Use of Force certificate and Handcuff training
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Strong work ethic, professional attitude, integrity, honest and responsible
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations tactfully
- Customer-focused mindset with a strong dedication to ensuring a safe shopping experience
- High level of professionalism and attention to detail
- Excellent problem recognition skills and ability to proactively achieve resolutions (de-escalation) both through direction and negotiation.
- Excellent judgment and demonstrate diplomacy skills in emergency situations

**Job Types**: Part-time, Fixed term contract

Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
- Day shift
- Holidays
