Department: Maintenance

Position: Maintenance Technician

Reports to: Maintenance Manager

**Primary Function**:
Coordinate with Maintenance Manager and Supervisors to ensure adequate upkeep of mechanical equipment, and hotel assets and perform repairs/maintenance in guest rooms and common areas of the property. Tracking and performing preventative maintenance and condition of property is a large part of this role.

**Prime Responsibilities Include**:
Empty trash cans and other waste containers; Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems. Perform inspections of property and other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair; Perform minor repairs on appliances; Clean overly dirty areas. Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas. Ensure guest and employee safety. And to safely perform any duty that the Maintenance Manager requires.

**Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities** Work under pressure; Repetitive tasks; Handling heavy loads; Physically demanding; Bending, crouching, kneeling.

**Work Location Information** Urban area; Remote location.

**Equipment Operated/Used**: Steam cleaners; Snowblower; Power tools; Industrial vacuum cleaners/power sweepers; Polishing machines; Power lawn mowers; Small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments); Swimming pool maintenance and cleaning equipment; Upholstery cleaning equipment; Security system; Carpet cleaning machine; Waxing machine

**Required**: Drivers license, Chemical Training (WHMIS)

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.50-$18.50 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
