We continue to expand our showroom spaces to provide exceptional customer experiences.
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Financial Controller to join our team. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for overseeing all financial activities and ensuring the integrity of financial information and compliance with regulations. You will play a crucial role in providing accurate financial reporting, managing budgets, analyzing financial data, and implementing effective financial strategies.
WHAT YOU’LL DO:
- Manage all accounting operations including A/R, A/P, GL with cash and accrual accounting
- Review and report timely monthly financial statements
- Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting
- Handle taxes, compliance, and strategic tax planning
- Facilitate external and internal audits
- Research technical accounting issues for compliance
- Establish safeguards, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance
- Supervise the month-end, quarterly, and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Coordinate, prepare, and update accordingly budget and financial forecasts and report variances
- Lead and grow the finance team
- Work closely with both operational and administrative teams in the business
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
- Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Experience with preparing and reviewing financial statements
- Experience with general ledger functions and the month/quarter/year-end close process
- Excellent accounting software skills including QuickBooks Online, Excel
- Proven experience as a Financial Controller or audit experience
- Experience in the retail industry an asset
- 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
