**Responsibilities**
This position ensures that all orders are packed accurately, efficiently, and according to Westbrook Systems standards. This involves training new team members, maintaining quality control, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. They will also require the ability to maintain inventory using the RF barcode reader, to ensure that stock levels are at an acceptable level. Additionally, the technician would assist in administrative tasks such as documenting packed orders, and providing seamless customer service, representing the Westbrook Systems brand.
**Key Objectives**
- Accurately locate and pick items from inventory based on order specifications and ensure correct quantities;
- Carefully pack products into boxes or containers, ensuring they are secure and protected for shipment;
- Use an RF bar code scanner to track inventory levels and update order statuses
- Use ERP system and Microsoft Office to communicate with planning, purchasing and shipping teams to ensure proper coordination;
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace;
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to meet daily order fulfillment targets and address any challenges that arise;
- Assist end-user customers coming to Westbrook to pick up orders
- Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers through open and interactive communication
- Support other team members with packaging and preparation of shipments as required
- Inspect incoming shipments and reporting discrepancies or damage
- Develop contingency plans for potential problems, communicate any individual loads or shipments needs, and meet outbound shipping goals of trucks and small parcels.
- Work within the guidelines of Westbrook Quality Management Systems
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
- Work in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act for Industrial Establishments and follow company safety rules
- Other duties as assigned.
**Qualifications & Skills**
- Shipping and receiving or warehouse experience is an asset
- Excellent Computer Skills including MS Office, Excel and ERP systems required
- Ability to work and build relationships effectively and cooperatively with team members, other departments and external stakeholders
- Familiarity with fabricated components and steel products is an asset
- Has received forklift training or is willing to be trained
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively
- Proven administrative experience and high attention to detail
- Exceptional organization and time management skills;
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
- Ability to problem solve, propose solutions/alternative;
- Positive, self-starting attitude and willingness to learn, with a commitment to ongoing development.
**Working Conditions**:Under the general direction of company leadership, must be able to work independently, conferring regularly with customers, plant personnel and outside contractors. Works in an office and shop environment and may be exposed to elements such as noise/temperature/heights and working in confined/awkward positions. Will be exposure to frequent material handling equipment such as forklifts, trucks and traffic. Moderate lifting is required. May require overtime and weekend work occasionally to meet deadlines.
