We are hiring one (1) full-time, permanent** Systems Analyst** position working out of Edmonton, AB.

This position is eligible for EPCOR’s hybrid work program.

What you’d be responsible for
- Communicating openly and using creative analytical skills to resolve operational issues effectively for customers within expected timeframes to meet key performance metrics and service level agreements.
- Ensuring system reliability and availability through dedicated and innovative system monitoring, maintenance and change management.
- Assisting with the completion of Transition to Operations reviews and checklists.
- Overseeing root cause analysis on issues to mitigate and prevent future risk.
- Collaborating with the entire Application Services team, to create and maintain dependable, efficient, high-quality solutions.
- Executing daily responsibilities focusing on continuous improvement of processes and systems.
- Participating in capital projects in addition to operational tasks.
- Providing positive contributions to documentation and the team knowledge base allowing for long-term sustainability of EPCOR Information Services through cross training and succession planning.
- Abiding by all Application Services departmental policies and processes.

What’s required to be successful
- Successful completion of a Computer Science or Engineering degree or a Computer Engineering/System Technology diploma.
- Dedicated technical self-starter driven by continuous learning and innovation.
- 4+ years of related experience
- Proven intermediate programming experience, and a keen interest in C# and Java development
- Intermediate proven experience with Oracle or Microsoft SQL Server databases
- Proven intermediate experience with an ETL tool (ex. FME)
- Previous experience with System Delivery Life Cycle using one or more common programming languages.
- Understanding of change management, agile principles, and ITIL framework

Knowledge of the following would be desirable:

- Intermediate knowledge of Linux & Windows Operating Systems and associated troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of Oracle Spatial & Graph or Microsoft SQL Spatial, and geospatial concepts

Wage: IT2 starting at $53.05 per hour; developmental (IT1) starting at $48.58 per hour (Final wage placement will be determined at the time of selection and is based on a combination of factors as outlined in the Collective Agreement)

Hours of work: 75 hours biweekly
