**The Role**:
To provide strategic leadership and direction on the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of Public Health Ontario’s (PHO) Knowledge Exchange strategy/framework to maximize the impact of PHO’s research and evidence and build capacity within the health system.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Provides leadership and direction for the integrated suite of knowledge exchange services (including Evaluation and Knowledge Mobilization (KMb), Product Development and Publishing, Capacity Building and Library Services) in order to foster change and innovation in individual practice, within organizations and at the system level.
- Provides oversight for PHO’s education and professional development programs including Rounds, student placements, e-learning and other educational offerings, ensuring that they are responsive to current and emerging needs and assist with developing the next generation of public health professionals.
- Directs and oversees the strategy, planning and delivery of the Ontario Public Health Conference (TOPHC) - Ontario’s annual public health professional development conference led by PHO in collaboration with aLPHa and OPHA addressing changes in public health landscape, ongoing impacts of COVID-19 pandemic and the accelerated shift to virtual learning.
- Provides leadership and direction for overall library services as well as knowledge exchange of public health information to influence the health care system and other partners/stakeholders to better meet population health needs in an equitable manner in support of internal and external public health clients, partners and stakeholders.
- Leads and provides strategic advice for the development, implementation and evaluation of multi-faceted, complex Knowledge Mobilization initiatives based on PHO strategic directions and priorities.
- Develops and fosters relationships with organizations, clients and stakeholders to ensure the relevance and quality of our services, access expertise and appropriately position PHO for success and innovation.
- Provides oversight and ensures all PHO knowledge products, website and educational offerings comply with AODA legislation and that there are no barriers to accessing our products.
- Advances tools and best practices that facilitates and champions knowledge exchange with PHO senior leaders/managers to build organizational capacity for evidence-based knowledge exchange.
- Provides oversight and direction for the development and execution of PHO’s French Language Services policy and strategy as well as supporting tools, training and resourcing to ensure that PHO’s products and services meet the requirements of the French Language Services Act (FLSA).
- Provides oversight for organizational compliance with PHO and government policies, standards, and rules, including French Language Services Act, AODA and Communications-related directives and protocols.
- Provides expert advice and direction to PHO program areas to support the planning and development of knowledge products and resources to ensure that PHO information, products, expertise and resources are widely available, known and utilized.
- Provides oversight for the development, implementation and management of PHO’s website content, aligned with strategic and operational plans, ensuring the coordination and integration of related digital products and services; Provides oversight for department compliance with PHO and government policies, standards, and rules.
- Manages critical relationships internal and externally often in a matrix or team structure and builds networks to negotiate and resolve conflict that have a crucial impact on both the department’s goals and strategic direction and mandate of PHO.
- Sets strategic and operational directions, defines operations, budget and program goals providing leadership and direction to staff ensuring they are committed and motivated to deliver on organizational and departmental strategic goals and objectives.
- Manages and directs managers to ensure congruence with PHO’s internal policies and procedures, professional standards, Collective Agreement requirements and other relevant standards, legislation or regulations, including: providing direction and leadership in the implementation of new techniques and standards; setting clear responsibilities and objectives and evaluating performance; advising on training needs, participating in recruitment and selection; dealing with disciplinary issues and responding to grievances in conjunction with PHO’s Human Resources management programs.
- As a member of the PHO senior leadership team, acts as a key participant in developing public health strategies, planning and execution.
