**Summary**

The **Safety & Compliance Officer** is a proactive and detail-oriented professional responsible for overseeing all aspects of safety, compliance, within Aero Delivery’s operations in Regina. This position plays a key role in ensuring adherence to federal and provincial transportation regulations while promoting a strong culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
The role also supports employee onboarding and training, incident investigation, disability management, and quality assurance programs (QA/HACCP).

**Key Responsibilities (including but not limited to)**

**Compliance & Safety Operations**
- Implement, monitor, and improve electronic logbook (E-Log) and satellite tracking systems.
- Maintain Commercial Vehicle Operator’s Registrations (CVOR), safety inspections, driver files, and maintenance records to National Safety Code (NSC) standards.
- Administer driver qualification files, vehicle records, and preventive maintenance tracking.
- Manage driver and vehicle licensing, renewals, and permit compliance (including Long Combination Vehicle - LCV certifications).
- Oversee the company’s Drug & Alcohol Testing Program.
- Conduct driver log audits, issue corrective actions, and coordinate remedial training.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies, federal/provincial legislation, and occupational health & safety regulations.
- Coordinate OH&S meetings with the support of the Terminal Manager.
- Promote a safe, respectful, and harassment-free workplace.
- Ensure warehouse certifications, inspections, and safety policies meet OHS standards.
- Ensure that all visitors and contractors are trained and aware of Aero Delivery’s safety policies and procedures.
- Support and maintain the company’s Accessibility Plan.

**Human Resources Support**
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and employee record management as directed by management.
- Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies and procedures.
- Deliver employee training, safety orientations, and refresher programs.
- Take a leadership role to managing safety compliance in conjunction with the Terminal Manager.

**Incident Management**
- Investigate workplace incidents, near-misses, and vehicle accidents.
- Conduct root cause analyses and develop corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
- Create and maintain risk assessments to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
- Provide immediate response for first aid, arrange medical care, and secure and preserve incident scenes.
- Coordinate disability management, including timely reporting to WCB and other agencies.
- Ensure proper documentation, return-to-work planning, restriction monitoring, and barrier removal to support employee recovery.

**Quality Assurance / HACCP Support**
- Assist with maintaining and verifying the company’s QA/HACCP and BRCGS programs.
- Assist in reviewing and evaluating QA/HACCP documents and records for accuracy and completeness and make recommendations for process improvement.
- Investigate customer complaints, product deviations, and non-conformances; recommend and follow up on corrective actions.
- Conduct internal audits to ensure compliance with food safety and regulatory standards.

**Other Duties as needed**
- Manage the maintenance around all warehouse and yard equipment, to include enforcing all policies and procedure in this area.
- Mentoring drivers as well as driving duties as needed.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Class 1A license is required for this role
- Proven track record in safety, compliance within the transportation or logistics industry.
- Strong knowledge of federal and provincial trucking regulations, including NSC, HOS, and OH&S standards.
- Experience with ELD and fleet management systems (e.g., Isaac, Samsara, or similar).
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Post-secondary education in Occupational Health & Safety or Business Administration (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) considered an asset.
- Experience with QA/BRCGS programs or food transport compliance is considered an asset.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and strong record-keeping skills.

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $50,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
