**Position Summary**:We are seeking a passionate and dedicated **Program Director** to join our dynamic team. We are a Northwest daycare that cares for children aged **12 months-12 years old**. Our facility operates **Monday to Friday**, year-round, from **7:00 AM to 6:00 PM**.

As a Program Director, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations and management of the facility or program. Your role involves ensuring the safety, well-being, and developmental progress of the children under your care, as well as managing staff, budgets, and regulatory compliance.

**Responsibilities: Leadership and Management**:

- Provide visionary leadership to the childcare program, setting goals and objectives in alignment with the organization's mission.
- Oversee and supervise all aspects of daily operations, including staffing, scheduling, and monitoring program activities.
- Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate childcare staff, ensuring compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements.
- Foster a positive and supportive work environment that encourages professional growth and development among staff members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Experience in early childhood education or childcare is preferred
- Proficient in computer operation for administrative tasks.
- Collaborates with marketing and sales to maximize center capacity by handling tours, registrations, waitlist management, and timely space filling.

**Program Development and Implementation**:

- Monitor planning across the centre and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities that promote the intellectual, physical, social, and emotional growth of children based on the Alberta Flight Framework and Montessori approach.
- Ensure that the childcare program meets or exceeds all applicable licensing, accreditation, and quality standards.
- Regularly assess and evaluate program effectiveness, adjusting as necessary to meet the needs of children and families.
- Collaborate with the management team and/or center director and perform the duties assigned accordingly.

**Parent and Community Engagement**:

- Build and maintain positive relationships with parents/guardians, keeping them informed about their child’s progress, activities, and any issues that may arise.
- Act as a liaison between the childcare program and the community, participating in outreach activities and promoting the program's services.

**Financial Management**:

- Managing administrative tasks such as processing payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general communications.
- Develop and manage the childcare program budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficiency.
- All other duties as assigned.

**Health, Safety, and Compliance**:

- Maintain a safe and healthy environment for children, staff, and visitors, adhering to all health and safety regulations and protocols.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations governing childcare facilities, including licensing requirements and reporting.

**Qualifications**:

- A Diploma in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development or a related field.
- Must have a valid Alberta ECE Certification Level 3
- Proven experience in a leadership role within a childcare setting, with a strong understanding of child development principles and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with children, parents, staff, and community members.
- Strong organizational and management skills.
- Ability to handle crisis situations calmly and efficiently, ensuring the safety and well-being of all involved.
- Must meet province requirements for childcare employment

**Additional Requirements**:

- CPE and First Aid Certification.
- Police Clearance Check with vulnerable sector search is required.

**Ability to commute/relocate**:

- Calgary, AB: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Education**:Early childhood Education and development diploma.

**Experience**:

- Program Director: 2 years (required)

**Certification**:

- Alberta ECE Level 3 Certification (required)

Expected hours: 40 per week
