Electrical & Instrumentation Inspector

Location: Module Yard / FST Conversion Yard / LNG Site
Schedule: 12 days on, 7 days off, with an estimated 10 hours/day - Start Date: 1/28/2025 | End Date: 2/15/2027
Accommodations: Floatel or in-town apartment provided
Travel Reimbursement: 10 hours per travel day + mileage at $0.59/km.
**Reporting to the Lead Inspector, the E&I Inspector will be expected to proactively monitor all aspects of the Electrical/Instrument/Telecoms installation work at the work location**:
**Requirements**:
- 10+ years’ experience in capital construction projects in the oil/gas industry.
- Working Knowledge of:
- CSA, CEC, IEC, UL, NFPA, NETA and other applicable codes and standards
- Installation and testing practices for electrical, instrument and telecom equipment
- Quality programs and processes.
- Detailed understanding of applicable Canadian and international codes and standards
- Demonstrable competency and understanding of electrical and Instrumentation installation methods
- Read, write and speak fluent English
**Roles & Responsibilities**
- Promote safety awareness and safe working practices among project team members, including consultants and contractor personnel
- Ensure contractor has relevant, up to date codes, standards, specifications, contract documents and detailed drawings
- Attendance to Company witness & hold points on Contractors ITP
- Quality surveillance and inspection activities at contractor, sub-contractor fabrication/construction sites
- Track non conformities and monitor/assist in efforts to resolve and close them
- Interface with site engineers, construction superintendent/foreman on quality requirements/issues
- Ensure compliance to contract specification codes and drawings
- Witness Mechanical Completion check sheet inspections
- Inspect received electrical, instrument and telecom equipment
- Conduct inspections to ensure proper preservation of electrical, instrument and telecom components
- Conduct and participate in final MC/Pre commissioning inspection and review of final dossiers
- Ensure installed electrical, instrument and telecom equipment is certified for the area classification
- Monitor log out tag out, permit to work and other energy control procedures for compliance
- Verify contractor, sub-contractor quality management systems, plans, procedures and processes are in place
- Ensure the safe installation of temporary power facilities
- Ensure proper installation of equipment, heat tracing, cable, glands, term lugs and kits, tray, tubing/fittings, grounding system and other bulks
- Sign off Electrical/Instrument/Telecom inspection test records, contractors ITP and adherence to contractors Quality Plan
**Weekly/Monthly Deliverables**
- Maintain daily log of inspection activities
- Produce relevant field quality control (QC) inspection reports
- Provide quality metrics and input to weekly quality report to Lead Inspector
