Il Fornello, a fast-paced Italian restaurant in Richmond Hill, is seeking experienced part-time hostesses/hosts who are dedicated to providing exceptional customer service and enhancing our guests' dining experience.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Greet guests and facilitate a smooth entry to the restaurant, guiding them to their tables
- Keep the floor plan up-to-date, ensuring the team is proactive in managing incoming reservations
- Relay important information regarding celebrations, allergies, and guest needs to the team
- Ensure tables are properly set with menus, daily specials, and cutlery
- Track reservations and waitlists, updating the floor plan accordingly to reflect changes
- Maintain a high level of professionalism and organization, especially during busy periods
- Monitor the reservation app, Touch Bistro, and organize all reservations based on time and section
- Address issues as they arise and provide support to team members to maintain service quality
- Ensure that the entrance and washrooms are clean, well-maintained, and fully stocked
- Keep menus and menu covers in good condition
- Answer phone calls to capture reservations and take-out orders efficiently
**Requirements**:
- Minimum of 1 year of hosting experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment is preferred
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong communication, hospitality, and interpersonal skills
