**The Role**:
The Educational Assistant Coordinator is a key member of the Early Intervention team, providing mentorship, support and managing placements of educational assistants (EAs).
- The primary role of the Educational Assistant Coordinator_
- Lead the hiring, support, and orientation of EAs.
- Provide ongoing mentorship support and supervision of EAs
- Complete the EA placement process.
- Lead planning and facilitating professional development for EAs.
- Duties include:_

**Administrative Support, Staffing, and Onboarding**
- Facilitate comprehensive orientation for EAs, ensuring they are welcomed, well-informed, and prepared for their role.
- Work with the Early Intervention team to ensure EAs are onboarded, placed, and supported at early learning partner sites.
- Develop and maintain EA substitute roster and place substitute EAs as required.
- Supervise, evaluate, and provide ongoing, performance feedback for EAs.
- Manage EA requests, scheduling, and placement details, ensuring effective and equitable staff deployment across programs.
- Maintain an absence calendar and provide a substitute if resources allow.
- Review and approve bi-weekly EA timesheets in a timely and accurate manner.
- Work with Early Learning Coordinators to develop schedules and assignment of EA hours.
- Assign appropriate access to SharePoint files.
- Provide support for EAs in their use of technology.
- Maintain ongoing communication with EI teams and partner sites regarding EA placements.

**Mentorship, Collaboration, and Consultation**
- Serve as a responsive point of contact for EA-related inquiries, offering guidance and support with care and clarity.
- Conduct informal visits, check-ins, and provide side-by-side modeling in the early learning environment.
- Address performance concerns constructively, ensuring alignment with Foothills Creative Beginnings’ policies, mission, and values.

**Training and Professional Development**
- Promote a culture of continuous learning and reflective practice.
- Collaborate with Early Learning Coordinators, therapists, and the leadership team to identify areas for professional growth.
- Plan and facilitate professional learning opportunities that are neuro-affirming and align with current research and best practices.
- Maintain current knowledge of early learning research and emerging trends to inform high-quality professional learning offerings.

**Requirements**:

- Post-secondary in early childhood education and/or education or related field.
- Experience working as an educational assistant is an asset.
- A current criminal record and vulnerable sector check.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Analytical abilities and aptitude in problem-solving.
- Proficiency in the English language, both oral and written.
- Proficiency in SharePoint, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle.

**Working conditions**

This is an office-based position working from Foothills Creative Beginning’s NE location in Calgary. It will involve frequent trips to early learning partner sites around Calgary and surrounding areas and attendance at team meetings and training sessions. This is a 1.0 FTE, 11-month term position. Anticipated start date in June 2025.
