Assistant Instructor

We are looking for long-term, part-time staff with strong Mathematics and English skills who are quick learners, reliable, consistent, and take initiative.

**Responsibilities and Duties**
- Promotion of a quiet classroom setting and orderly environment.
- Work effectively and cooperatively within the overall Center team.
- File Prep and Inventory - Pull appropriate worksheets and prepare student files with necessary materials and information. Take inventory of supplies.
- Provide feedback to the Instructor regarding observations of students.
- Assist other staff during class downtime.
- Grade worksheets (accurately and efficiently grade completed worksheets with designated markings) and enter worksheet grades into record books.
- Provide hints to guide students through their work.
- Ensure students complete their classwork and corrections.
- Take the Oral Reading Scores for each student.
- Other duties, as assigned.

**Qualifications and Skills**
- Proven ability to multi-task - prioritize tasks and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Enjoy working with children. Experience in working with children is an asset.
- Positive attitude and a passion for working with youth.
- Patience, calm demeanor and the ability to motivate.
- Ability to read and speak the English language clearly.
- Ability to follow direction properly.
- Strong initiative and ability to work very independently and under tight deadlines.
- Quick thinking and the ability to solve problems with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
- Strong organizational skills.

We offer a training wage that increases based on Assistant's previous years of experience working with children as well as performance in our classroom.
