We are looking for a Financial Reporting Policy Analyst to join our team for an 18 to 24 month term. Under the guidance of the
Financial Accounting and Reporting Supervisor, this position is responsible for leading the research, implementation, and transition
of various accounting and financial reporting initiatives. This includes interpreting International Financial Reporting Standards and
assessing their impact on the enterprise during the adoption of new standards. In addition, this position is responsible for the
preparation of financial information related to lease liabilities for monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting. This position is also
responsible for coordinating the annual review of legal claims and environmental liabilities to ensure appropriate liabilities and
provisions are accurately recognized. The successful applicant will be a self-starter with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
and well-developed conceptual thinking and interpersonal skills.
**_ Responsibilities:_**
- Research and recommend appropriate accounting treatment for emerging issues within the enterprise to ensure compliance
with International Financial Reporting Standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate and lead quarterly review meetings for all newly drafted discussion papers and guidance documents to ensure
thorough review and approval. Additionally, maintain the SharePoint site housing all accounting recommendations, discussion
papers, and guidelines.
- Develop year-end note disclosures related to newly adopted accounting standards and liaise with external auditors regarding
current accounting changes.
- Responsible for the identification, reconciliation, and analysis of lease liabilities, including calculating the present value of new
lease obligations and revaluing existing liabilities annually. Also accountable for tracking leases to support year-end note
disclosures.
- Coordinate the annual review of all legal claims to ensure the appropriate liabilities and/or provisions are accurately
recognized, where applicable.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual reviews of environmental liabilities and provisions to ensure that appropriate liabilities and/or
provisions are accurately established, where applicable.
- Participate in and provide guidance to enterprise working groups and committees on the implications of environmental, social,
and governance (ESG) reporting standards for external reporting.
- Lead or participate in a variety of special projects across accounting and finance. Plan, direct, and coordinate project activities
to ensure that objectives are achieved within established timelines.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting interns in conducting ad hoc standards research and policy reviews.

- Completion of the CPA program and two years of related financial or accounting experience as a professional accountant
combined with progressively responsible work experience and demonstrated skills and abilities required for the position.
