**Maintenance Handyman**

Public Storage Canada is currently seeking a **Maintenance Handyman** to work at various facilities throughout the KW, Guelph, Hamilton and Brantford areas.

**Responsibilities**:

- Visit various properties in your designated area and assist with all required repairs and maintenance work.
- Perform handyman work including but not limited to, basic repairs and maintenance, painting, drywall repair, minor plumbing repair, eaves trough cleaning and repair, gate and fence work, door and door assembly work, window repair, parking area cleaning and repair, minor concrete repair, and other similar work as necessary.
- Prepare preventative maintenance plans with property managers.
- Provide troubleshooting and repair work on property security systems and fire safety equipment (training provided on the specific systems).
- Use the maintenance ticketing system to organize and prioritize work.
- Remove debris and abandoned goods from job-site and coordinates with managers for trash pick-up from job site when needed.
- Maintain daily communication / relationship while on the properties, reporting the job’s progress, and informing the manager and district manager of any necessary changes to scope of project, updating ticketing system as needed.
- Pick up and deliver all required equipment and supplies as required to complete tasks using company expense guidelines
- Oversee contractors working on the properties and reports to the district manager regarding quality of workmanship.
- Performs additional duties as required and requested by immediate supervisor.

**Additional Requirements**:

- General aptitude and desire for general handyman related functions.
- Ideally 1-3 years experience in a similar role
- Must be able to attend after hour emergencies as/when needed
- Maintain a neat and safe work-site at all times
- Good written and verbal skills
- Must have their own vehicle (vehicle allowance provided)
- Trade certification considered an asset but not necessary.

**Compensation**:
**This position starts at $37,960 annual salary, plus $12,000 annual car allowance, cell phone allowance and benefits.**
