Regional Health and Safety Coordinator

You will report to the Senior Director - Operations and Maintenance and your mandate you will be accountable to maintain and sustain health and safety initiatives at r facilities located in Québec, Ontario and in the U.S. in respect to corporate health and safety programs and governmental regulations. You will act as a change agent in the implementation of a strong health and safety culture

Your day-to-day:

- Support the implementation of the Innergex Health & Safety Management System, procedures and policies:

- Assist with drafting of procedures
- Manage the administration of the system (document control etc).
- Provide support and advice to employees on occupational health and safety compliance;
- If appropriate carry out safety observations and document accordingly;
- Provide administrative support to track lagging and leading safety statistics.
- If appropriate and qualified, investigate accidents, incidents and near misses as directed;
- Organize training and information sessions on health and safety procedures;
- Identify suitable training providers and organise safety related training for staff at the facilities;
- Organize audit of construction activities through third party consultants.
- Organize and maintain current information about contractors to meet all safety requirements;
- Gather HS contractual documents prior to trades mobilizing onsite;
- Prepare and report statistical data in the appropriate databases.
- Track implementation progress of H&S initiatives.
- Collate data and prepare monthly H&S reports.
- Provide administrative support to H&S team (organise travel, expenses etc).

Your skills, our requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in similar role.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- A valid unrestricted class 5 driver's license.
- Good knowledge of EHS laws, regulations and standards in BC and of OSHA regulations.
- Experience in the following focus areas: job hazard analysis, risk assessment, incident investigation and root cause analysis, writing procedures and claim management.
- Ability to travel to facilities in Québec, Ontario and US would be desirable.
- Fluency in French and English, both written and spoken, Spanish an asset.

Additional considerations:

- The position is based at the company’s head office located in Longueuil, steps away from the Longueuil-Université de Sherbrooke metro station.
- You must possess a valid unrestricted class 5 driver's license as well as a passport.
- You must be able to travel to all facilities in the region.
- Possibility of remote work (hybrid formula).
